David Gray in KC @ The Uptown

So I am very excited. I first saw David Gray in concert in Minneapolis. Since then I have slowly converted friends and family into fans. He is a great singer song write and live in he is unbelievable. One of the best vocals I have heard live and his band can play.

Since Minneapolis I have seen him in Denver and most recently in Chicago with a bunch of friends, one being Tory who writes here as well. So you can imagine how excited I was when I heard I could see him without purchasing a plane ticket too. Presale started this morning. If you do not want to wait to buy tickets just sign up on his mailing list.

If you are a fan, follow him on Twitter.

Hope to see you there!

Your KC Blues

The KC Blues Rugby Team will be playing Jayhawk RFC at the Mid America Sports Complex in KC this weekend. Check out their schedule for future games. Go cheer on your local team!!!

Weekend Plans?!?!

This weekend is a big one for KC. Kansas City's Plaza Art Fair brings people from all around KC not to mention people who live within driving distance to spend a weekend on KC's artsy Country Club Plaza. Art is not the only thing you will find here. There are some of Kansas City's restaurants with tents serving food and drinks and you will be entertained with music. Is there a better setting to spend time with family and friends?

Other places to beebop this weekend: Oktoberfest (Lee Summit), Royals v Twins, Wizards v. Rapids, Ida McBeth at Jardine's Saturday night, Light the Night @ Corporate Woods (Friday Night)

FML Fridays...If you think you have it bad, someone has it worse.

Happy Friday and first day of Spring! It's still winter here in Chicago and we probably have another snow approaching soon. depressing.

Today, I learned I made the dean's honor list for my college for the first time since attending. I asked my dad if he was proud of me, to which he replied, "when you're as successful as your brother, I'll be proud." My brother is a Chippendale's dancer. FML

have a great weekend!

BeeBoppin this weekend to.....

Because it is the weekend before Saint Pat's and most have to work on Tuesday...drinking and wearing green are suggested. Other things suggested....

To start the day off there will be quite a few Kansas Citians BeeBoppin...er...running the streets of Wesport for the annual St Pat's 4 miler including one of the BeeBoppin bloggers.

Another BeeBopper will be at the St. Pattys parade and will then be attending the Kansas City Blues Rugby match against Detroit Tradesmen on Saturday @ 7:00 in Bonner Springs. Go Cheer on the Blues. It is implied that there will be drinking to follow at one of Kansas City's finest establishments (Kennedys, Brooksider, Falloon :))

FML Fridays... if you think you have it bad, someone has it worse.

Happy Friday!

Chicago this weekend is going to be full of people who are pretending they are irish and using it as an excuse to get hammered. I am sure there will be plenty of FMLs from some chicagoans this weekend. In the theme of Chicago....

Today, I was on the subway. I have fairly serious OCD so I avoid holding the poles or handles. All the seats were taken so I leaned against a wall. At the next stop this obese, sweaty man got on and grabbed the two poles around me, effectively hugging me. My shirt was wet when he left. FML

KC Concert Line Up

As Summer gets near I am looking into the summer concert lineup. Preferably outdoor concerts. Currently I am only planning on attending one concert out of the Kansas City limits (Mat Kearney in Chicago. But it is only March so please join me for any of these or offer up others to attend.

Howie Day @ Record Bar March 25th
Jason Mraz @ Starlight May 6th
Matt Kearney @ Aragon (Chicago) May 16th
The Decembrists @ Uptown May 27th
Ben Folds @ Crossroads May 30th

So far that is the lineup. As I look at it I definitely need some variety cause this is 100% singer songwriter. I am just a little upset this year because all big concerts are going to Sprint Center and all the out door live music fun is diminishing.

please comment with suggested concerts or wanting to join me at these.

According to Pandora Sugarland is recording on Will Smith Album?

I just found this odd and entertaining so why not share it with my friends. The picture is a screenshot from my pandora (yes I was listening to Sugarland radio) and everytime sugarland came up the album cover was Will Smith: Lost and Found.

FML Fridays.. if you think you have it bad, someone else has it worse.

Today, I drove to a job interview. I had to sneeze, but because I was driving on the highway, I didn't let go of the wheel to cover my mouth. I didn't know the sneeze was a "productive" one until I was sitting in the interview, looked down at my new blouse and saw the giant lugie sitting there. FML

They look alike...right?

Ok normally I think Sarah Jessica Parker is gorgeous due to her fabulous clothes and accessories. But her decision last night to use Glinda the Good Witch as the inspiration behind her outfit...not good.

FML Fridays.. if you think you have it bad, someone else has it worse.

Courtesy of fmylife.com, we are going to make sure you realize that you didn't have as bad of a week as you thought. Look for a end-of-the-week cheer up every Friday.

Today, I returned home from college and saw a framed picture of my parents and my younger sister on an elephant in an exotic jungle. I pointed to the picture and asked my mom, "Is this some photoshop job?" She responded, "No, we went to Thailand for a family trip, didn't we tell you?" FML

hope that no FML's are done this weekend at mardi gras. happy friday

The PERFECT accessory for Mardi Gras

So for some classy girls, as in the girls that run this blog (please no comments arguing otherwise), the perfect accessory for Padri Gras this weekend in the STL would be the scarf below. No need to lift your shirt to earn a few beads.

Here we go again....

Mardi/Pardi Gras round up to be posted early next week.

If you think you are having a bad day...

If you think you are having a bad day please look at www.fmylife.com.

because it could seriously be a lot worse...

example:

Today, I sold my car for cash. Then, I rode a borrowed bike to the bank to deposit it. When I got to the bank, I didn't have the envelope, and I realized I had dropped an unmarked envelope with over 2500 dollars in cash on the ground in a sketchy, sketchy area. Now I have no car, and no money. FML

I know they are sad AND it's bad karma to laugh... but everyone needs a boost to remind them their lives aren't horrible.

(thanks sarah)

Update to "Four Unnecessary uses of Facebook"

Ok so we have definitely been slacking on posting...or actually NOT posting. And this is a really lame attempt at trying to get back on the bandwagon but I found an article today that relates to a previous article.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/28981009/
http://www.time.com/time/arts/article/0,8599,1877187,00.html?cnn=yes

And I will also leave you with a good joke :) (Thanks to Mary Stanley)
A 3-year-old boy examined his testicles while taking a bath.
'Mom', he asked, 'Are these my brains?'
'Not yet,' she replied.
